GLÓR Panto; Any good? OH YES IT IS!

By Guest Blogger Cormac
It’s been a few years since I saw my last pantomime and this one lived up to the memories. This amateur production by the Pantaloon group from Ennis opened on the 27th of December in Glór, Ennis and  is their 11th pantomime and they bring; great acting talent, fantastic musical numbers, up to date jokes and is a lovely spin on the old classic Jack and the Beanstalk.
Jack & the Beanstalk tale

It starts in the way of the old tale. A poor family realise they’re forced to sell their beloved cow to the highest bidder in order to pay their cruel landlord lord flatulent. But the plot thickens Lord Flatulent sends his nieces Lady and Gaga along to trick jack in to giving up the cow for some “magic beans” so that the Lord can erect a giant statue of himself on their land when he’s given them the boot. Many of you will know how the rest of the story goes but for those who don’t I won’t give anymore away. More characters are added the best being the unlikely superhero Unbelievableman.

Jack and the Beanstalk is a great treat for the whole family. It’s got romance, peril, and the age old battle between good and evil. Be sure to give it a look if you’re stuck for something to do with the kids of all ages in the afternoon.

Contact  Glór for details. The show runs till Saturday 31st December

Well done to the  Pantaloons group
