Good Friday at Ennis Cathedral

The choir  dressed in black for the solemn Easter service were getting some last minute practice in upstairs in the choir gallery . The following selection of solo viola music served as a prelude to the liturgy.

A feature of the ceremony was the draping of the wooden cross with  a patchwork of 'burden squares' during the first part of the liturgy. A number of wooden crosses were placed at different points for the final veneration of the cross. The was a good range voices  among the  readers .
