Sandy Kelly /Patsy Cline at Glór
Sandy Kelly brought a bit of sparkle to the Glor last Thursday with her homage to Patsy Cline. Her outfits were stunning and she looked fabulous . I loved the fiddle player who looked liked he was really enjoying himself and made it look effortless.
I always like to hear the old bluegrass favourites Orange Blossom Special and Turkey in the Straw and this was a great rendition complete with vocals. The only dampner was the overamplified bass which unbalanced the ensembleand nor could I detect a difference between electric bass and bass guitar.
The distance between audience and performers did not lend itself to a more intimate cabaret like ambience and Sandy struggled valiantly to connect with the audience to acknowledge some requests . But Bravo Sandy . You are terrific!
